Senior Process Engineer

Organized into 3 segments - Electronic Systems, Communications Systems and Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems - L3 Technologies employs over 31,000 people worldwide with reported 2017 sales of $9.5 billion.   L3 Ocean Systems is a leading worldwide supplier of acoustic undersea warfare systems, having designed, manufactured, and supported a broad range of compact, lightweight, high performance acoustic systems for navies around the world.  L3 Ocean Systems offers employees a rewarding environment where you have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business.     We are searching for a dynamic Senior Process Engineer to join our team in Sylmar, CA.   Position Responsibilities: Develop process instructions based on As-Is baseline and for subsequent process transformations for existing products and new product development. Create, validate and maintain production level Work Instructions, tooling, and equipment. Develop and implement capital and non-capital projects for production tooling, fixtures and equipment as required to support production needs, product quality improvements and cost saving initiatives. Assist organizations in assessing process maturity and identifying targets for process improvement to align them with manufacturing-level processes and adopted standards. Lead/support cost and quality improvement projects on existing/new products and department processes; perform analysis of key manufacturing parameters. Coordinate the transfer of new processes and practices to manufacturing production by providing group facilitation, training and additional forms of knowledge transfer. Provide timely support to production floor in the resolution of production issues. Present monthly updates for current improvement activities and production matrices.   Qualifications Position Requirements: BS degree in Engineering with a practical emphasis towards Manufacturing. 5+ years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering Experience with MRP/ERP systems. Proficient in MS applications; MS Project and Access database a plus. Firsthand experience of electro-mechanical aerospace assembly practices, materials and processes. Experienced in evaluating and developing manufacturing processes in parallel with engineering development. Experience with Advanced Manufacturing and Development techniques, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and DFX. Experience using Pro-Engineer, preferably Pro-E 2001. Ability to lead the design, development, and implementation of shop aids, tooling and fixtures. Ability to generate technical drawings to industry standards ASME Y14.5 & Y14.100. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
