Commodity Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Commodity Manager. This position will have responsibility for developing, modifying and supporting the strategic supply chain risk management process for Abbott's CN Division. Impact this role will have on Abbott: Implements risk management strategies to support continuity of supply for the CN division Researches and identifies sources of external risk Provides guidance and overall direction to each site within the division in their identification and mitigation of identified risks Maintains current knowledge of supplier performance Collaborates with commodity category managers to develop short and long-term risk management strategies Proactively reports on geo-political and global economic factors that may impact the supply chain Monitors supplier acquisitions Maintains and promotes sound relationships with extensive network of suppliers and business community Collaborates with corporate risk management team to harmonize risk management processes Leads projects to develop and/or improve risk management tools and processes Maintains active knowledge of critical suppliers who impact revenue and facilitate mitigation strategies to prevent supply chain disruption Identify commercially-focused supplier development opportunities Monitors market condition information regarding commodities and suppliers and recommends business strategy changes Supports all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand Abbott's marketplace success: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain 3+ years working in a highly regulated environment Working knowledge of SAP Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail Ability to travel approximately up to 20%, including internationally 30906867

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
