EH&S and Facilities Manager

This position is responsible for the overall well being of the employees based at the Sylmar site (approx..400). The primary role will be to development, implement, and maintain the  Company's safety, security & environmental policies and standards.  Health and Safety is the foundation of the Esterline culture and as such this role will collaborate with management in the design, development and implementation of Company EH&S policies and standards in order to proactively manage safety risk, protect employees, and meet regulatory responsibilities. In addition to EHS, this position provides facility oversight.   Responsibilities Partner with site management and employees to help achieve its mission and goals while protecting people and the environment and ensuring site compliance. Provides direction to management in the development and implementation of proactive safety, occupational health, environmental and systems integrity management practices to facilitate the kind and type of organization needed to effect improvements, reduce costs and enhance efficiency. Oversees company and third-party projects and reviews plans and new equipment to determine if safety, occupational health, environmental, and systems integrity control considerations are adequate and if they conform to specifications, standards, and corporate policy. Provides leadership in emergency response efforts, emergency response training drills, and the development of emergency response plans. Monitors and analyzes key EHS performance metrics to measure progress and trends. Collects and reports quarterly environmental metrics to Corporate team. Provide necessary training Develop Job Safety Analysis, Lockout Tagout Procedures, and Machine Risk Assessments for current and new jobs. Conducts EHS audits and inspections to provide assurance that management systems are in place and the facility is in compliance with all laws, regulations and company policies. Creates and maintains EHS Management System documentation. Prepares requiredreporting for OSHA, and other governmental agencies. Stays current on safety and environmental technical and regulatory issues. Participates in workers compensation cases, actively works with the third party vendor to reduce time employees spend off work and advises management on cases. Assures that required EHS records and documents are maintained. Lead the EH&S committee Ensures safe and efficient operations in compliance with applicable regulatory and safety guidelines while maintaining service excellence. Oversees major infrastructure repair and renovations projects by identifying and managing vendors/contractors, including bid process, contract compliance, and vendor/contractor performance Reviews and authorizes purchase requests to ensure service agreements are met and maintenance services are in compliance with procedures and budgets   Additional Information Travel - 10% travel is required for this position. Knowledge Bachelor of Science in Safety Sciences, Environmental Science or related field with six (6) or more years of progressively responsibleexperience in an environmental, health and safety or operations management role in a manufacturing environment is required. Professional certification as a Certified Safety Professional is highly desired but not required. Emergency response experiencepreferred. Production and/or maintenance supervisory experiencepreferred. Knowledge in the technical fundamentals of safety management and risk assessments and reduction, including machinery & process safety, industrial hygiene, loss prevention, ergonomics and occupational health. Knowledgeable in local safety, health and environmental laws and regulations Knowledgeable in the fundamentals of fire protection and loss prevention engineering Knowledge of lean manufacturing/continuous improvement processes Experience & Skills Risk Assessment and Analysis - Knowledge of and ability to effectively utilize methods and tools to conduct risk assessments and process hazard analysis Regulatory Applicability Assessment - Must be skilled in determining applicability of state, federal, regional and/or local government environmental regulations and when applicable. Incident Management - Ability to conduct root cause analysis, identify corrective actions, and utilize incident management systems to improve site and employee safety Project Management - Demonstrated skill in project management tools and methods to successfully manage and implement several projects and initiatives simultaneously Training Development & Delivery - Knowledge of adult learning methods and able to identify, develop and facilitate EHS related training materials & topics Communication Skills - Able to clearly and effectively communicate verbal and written appropriate to the audience. Able to deliver information in a formalized and group setting. Able to translate complicated and/or technical information in a simplified format that can be easily understood Computer Skills - Working knowledge of current software systems, i.e. SAP, e-mail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Skilled in utilizing database software programs and electronic project management tools Self-motivated, requiring limited oversight.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
