Materials Plant Operator Contract with Potential to Hire Rate :
17-19 per hour Location:
Santa Clarita, CA Modis Burbank is looking for a Materials Plant Operator for a great client in Santa Clarita.
The Materials Plant Operator will be responsible for the operations and maintenance for a multiple equipment manufacturing/chemical plant.
The ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running and have some computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PLC software.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Qualified to operate a batch and a continual process utilizing various materials/chemicals in a plant environment Work safely with multiple pieces of equipment including reactors, furnaces, pumps, distillation equipment, sieves, and centrifuges Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
2-5 years of chemical plant operations experience strongly preferred Ability to read, understand, and follow operation instructions as well as generate basic reports Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-pace work environment Experience in hazardous material handling Complete understanding of chemical safety requirements Ability to interact with diverse work force Demonstrated examples of being accountable and team player Knowledge of handling powders and/or solvents Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Citizenship documentation required.
Education:
Associate degree with emphasis in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields highly preferred.
Minimum High school with at least 2-5 years' experience required.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 30-45 pounds, requires sitting, standing, walking.
Position will require the use of a respirator at times.
