Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Senior Financial Analyst who can work without appreciable supervision, provides the primary focal point for division cost analysis activities. Employees act on their strong desire to make a difference, partner with others and put ideas into action.
Impact this role will have on Abbott:
+ - Cost Planning functions including updating quarterly forecasts, providing detailed variance analysis (including overhead absorption, material purchase price and scrap), performing capital equipment ROI?s, product cost analysis, setting production cost standards, and updating and maintaining standard cost files and inventory/manufacturing performance metrics
+ - Participating in the monthly closing process and providing analytical insight into budget variances and operational performance; in particular, provides cost analysis support to the manufacturing departments of the division
+ - Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness
+ - Exercises judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitors performance and reports status within area of responsibility
+ - This role assures that quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements, and remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise
+ - Represents the organization and resolve problems/determine priorities related to the above
Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand Abbott?s marketplace success:
+ - A Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, a related field, or equivalent
+ - Typically a minimum of six plus years of progressively more responsible cost analyst experience, including cost analyst experience in a manufacturing environment
+ - A demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes and how they impact costs and expenses is required
+ - A comprehensive knowledge of balance sheet transactions and their impacts on the income statement is also required
+ - Requirements include an in-depth knowledge and experience of GAAP, financial reporting, standard cost system, and operational accounting issues, as well as some knowledge of and exposure to Total Quality Management (TQM) are required
+ - Experience in a manufacturing environment working with automated manufacturing systems, such as MRP/MRP II and automated general ledger systems
+ - A qualified record of implementing new processes to existing cost accounting and related systems
+ - Requires comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills, the ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects as well as the ability to converse effectively with all levels of employees
+ - Documented record of delivering information that adds value to management?s decision making process
+ - Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable FDA regulations and company operating procedures, processes, policies, and tasks
+ - Advanced personal computer skills including spreadsheet, word processing, data base management, and other relevant applications; demonstrated skills in working with cost accounting software packages
Your preferred qualifications and education:
+ An advanced credential, such as an MBA, CPA, CMA, or CPIM designation or equivalent
+ Experience in a high tech product-manufacturing environment and strong experience with SAP ERP system software and Hyperion Planning/Essbase systems

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
