The Service Manager directs an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of service records.

1. Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department.
2. Monitor and control the performance of the department using appropriate reporting and tracking systems.
3. Monitor technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
4. Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
5. Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities.
6. Prepare pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operations.
7. Establish and maintain 72-hour follow-up with customers to confirm satisfaction with service.
8. Maintain reporting systems required by general management and corporate personnel.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma.
Two years' service department experience in a commercial dealership environment.
Valid driver's license and insurability.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
