House Manager

With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.
UCPLA is hiring a House Manager responsible for monitoring budget and utilizing operational resources participating in facility development. Supervises staff and gives direction. Oversees day-to-day operational, administrative, and activities within the facility. Manages the selection, training, development, scheduling, and discipline of staff.
+ Works closely with Administrator, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), and Nursing Department to ensure quality client care, and to ensure special needs of clients are met
+ Assists QIDP with instructing staff on how to carry out active treatments and training objectives identified in each clientâ s Individualized Service Plan (ISP)
+ Assigns and supervises Direct Care Staff in cleaning and laundry duties
+ Trains new staff regarding client needs, client training objectives, and housekeeping duties
+ Serves as a member of admission conferences for all new clients
+ Provides new clients with an orientation to the facility with introduction to staff and peers
+ Attends regularly scheduled in-services
+ Conducts routine house inspections
+ In conjunction with the Dietician and Administrator, assigns and monitors meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; ensures menus are posted and followed; prepares meals as needed
+ Ensures universal precautions and infection control standards are being followed
+ Drives clients to appointments using company van and assists clients on outings
+ Uses mechanical lift to transfer clients
+ Provides Direct Care Staff support as needed
+ Must be available by telephone and respond to calls in a timely manner
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate and/or Nursing Attendant Training
+ At least 18 months of Direct Support experience, working with individuals with developmental disabilities under the supervision of a QIDP
+ Current CPR certification required
+ Ability to work and communicate in a professional manner with others
+ Positive attitude and flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the residential home
+ Ability to successfully pass all employee screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
+ Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, lift and transfer clients (with assistance/Hoyer Lift)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
