The Segment Manager helps to plan, organize, and implement the sales and marketing strategy for the PPG Aerospace General Aviation Transparencies segment. He/She will assist the Global Market Director General Aviation in development of the BSR and prepare annual Market Action Plan (MAP). The Manager also coordinates the development and implementation of key customer plans (KCP's) with regional ASC Business Managers and OEM Account Managers as well as provides management oversight on activities impacting monthly P&L and working capital at multiple manufacturing facilities ? sales growth, scrap reduction, warranty adjudication, AR management.
The Segment Manager will work directly with the Global Director to review all segment results and activities that competitively position PPG Aerospace in the marketplace. He/She will attend requisite trade shows / events that benefit the PPG Aerospace organization, as needed. The Manager will assist Product Support in development of presentations, industry literature, training guides and databases appropriate for the commercial transparencies segment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
New Business Development
Coordinate and drive all actions with PPG sales, technical and manufacturing teams to secure new OEM contracts including: customer presentations, cost estimates, commercial and technical proposals and contract negotiations
Assist in development and maintenance of long-term agreements and contracts.
Current Accounts
Partner with OEM account managers to coordinate Huntsville and Sylmar manufacturing, engineering, and quality support from plant (liaison between account manager and plant functions) for General Aviation programs
Coordinate and drive executive level customer reviews for key OEM accounts
Provide forecast and demand planning support for Huntsville and Sylmar facility.
Transparency Marketing
Assist to develop presentations to provide intercompany product, competitor, and marketing strategy training.
Assist to develop technical sales presentations to showcase all transparency technology and advantages.
Work with Aerospace marketing organization to support the development of sales/marketing materials.
Support the Global Director in the coordination and support of regional sales force activities as needed.
Strategic Planning
Support the Global Director in strategic planning and marketing activities.
Assist to develop market forecasts, competitor assessments, budgets and business plans including contributing to the BSR process, market action plan and long range plan.
Experience and Education
Bachelors Degree, or equivalent, in Marketing, Engineering or similar fields of study.
A minimum of 5 years of experience within sales and business marketing.
Marketing or sales experience in the aerospace industry is highly preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
