Payroll Clerk
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Process multi-state in house weekly payroll in a centralized processing department
Pay employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts
Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
Issue interim off-cycle checks for layoffs, missed time entry
Data transfer to ADP, bank positive pay files for each pay cycle
Understanding of payroll transactions in JD Edwards
Interact with Payroll, Corporate Accounting and multiple contacts with Division Finance personnel
Meet weekly payroll deadlines
Produce Certified Payroll Reports
Understanding of Payroll Tax
Written communication via email to employees
Handle stressful situations time requirements
Preferred qualifications
Experience in the construction industry
5-10 years of payroll experience in a large multiple-state organization- Preferred
Experience with union payrolls
5 years of in house payroll processing
Experience with JDE - Preferred
Required qualifications
Highly organized and detail oriented
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Proficient in excel
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Positive and professional attitude, with a customer service orientation
Typing skills 50 wpm - Ability to type correspondence
Multi-tasking
